Italy continues to dominate the global pasta market, producing 3.6 million tonnes and generating nearly 7 billion euros in turnover. Italians also consume the most pasta, with an average of 23 kilos per person annually. Over half of Italy's pasta is exported, primarily to EU countries, with export volumes reaching 2.2 million tonnes in 2023. Despite a slight decrease in export volumes, the value of exports rose by 3% from 2022. The main importers of Italian pasta are Germany, the UK, France, the US, and Japan, with growing consumption in various other countries worldwide.
