Italian fruit and vegetables, the safest in Europe

Italian fruit and vegetables are increasingly safe. Italy is above the EU average both in terms of quantities analyzed and the quality of the results achieved. The percentage of residues above the limits of plant protection products is minimal and has fallen from 1.8% in 2019 to 1.1% in 2021. This is reported by the first launch of the Agrofarma Observatory, a report which, every six months, will collect information on the state of the art of Italian agriculture. Agrofarma is the association that represents 33 Italian companies in the agropharmaceuticals sector. They generate 95% of the sector's Italian turnover which in 2022 stood at around 1 billion euros.
