Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahkov held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Bulgaria, H.E. Marcello Apicella, at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. During the conversation, Minister Tahkov emphasized the importance of Italy as one of Bulgaria's leading trade partners in the field of agriculture and the food industry. "Italy is among our key partners as it has formed between 4% and 6% of Bulgaria's agrarian trade exchange in recent years. Although our trade is well developed, there is untapped potential for expanding and deepening cooperation in the agricultural sector," stated Minister Tahkov. He noted that in the first seven months of 2025, Bulgarian exports of agricultural goods to Italy had increased by over 21% compared to the same period of the previous year.
