The price of tomatoes in Ukraine has been on a continuous rise since August, peaking in November, only to decrease due to the influx of cheaper imports, primarily from Turkey. With most domestic greenhouses having finished production, the market is now dominated by imports, leading to an average price of 70-80 UAH/kg (660-755 HUF/kg), which is 11% cheaper than the November peak. However, imported tomatoes are still 54% more expensive than the previous year. Wholesalers anticipate further price cuts, as they may need to organize sales to prevent the buildup of unsold products.
