JETRO, in partnership with Japan Food Trading Corporation, aims to expand yellowtail sales channels in the US, capitalizing on the growth of Japanese cuisine and the rise of health-conscious consumers. They will provide samples to around 10 supermarkets in New York and other areas, and develop yellowtail dishes to increase visibility and encourage purchases. The initiative, funded from a 2023 budget, will run from mid-February to March, aligning with a decade of consistent growth in Japanese yellowtail exports to the US, which reached 22.8 billion yen in 2024.
