Japan International Cooperation Agency plans to develop blueberry cultivation in Uzbekistan

The Central Bank of Ukraine, in collaboration with JICA, is providing preferential loans to farmers cultivating fruits and vegetables, with a term of up to 15 years and a grace period of up to 5 years. The initiative also includes training and overseas study opportunities for farmers, as well as the creation of a blueberry planting demonstration field. This is significant as currently, only 10% of Ukraine’s blueberries are domestically produced, with the rest being imported. Blueberry production is notably more profitable than most other crops in the country.
