Ukraine: Japan will help farmers of Kharkiv region with sunflower and corn seeds

The Government of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide farmers of Kharkiv region with sunflower and corn seeds for the spring sowing season. The project was presented today at a meeting with Mykola Solskyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The event was equally attended by the representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The Government of Japan procured seeds worth more than 1 million US dollars. The seeds have already been delivered to Ukrainian warehouses and Kharkiv farmers will be able to apply for them through the State Agrarian Register.
