For several days, an intense debate has been gaining momentum within the productive sectors of Buenos Aires, stemming from a draft or preliminary bill that seeks to regulate the use of agricultural land in the province. This is a project presented by the College of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of the province (CIAFBA), which aims to declare the "integral care of agricultural and/or forestry soils and water" as a matter of public interest. The initiative, which began to be discussed in a committee of the Buenos Aires Senate, stipulates that "all natural or legal persons who carry out agricultural and/or forestry production within the province of Buenos Aires have the obligation to apply the necessary practices for the care of suitable soils in all situations where, due to the current state or susceptibility to degradation, it is unavoidable to be able to use them for production."
