Jeju beef and pork are set to be exported to Singapore for the first time in the country, prompting various Jeju livestock cooperatives to voice their unanimous welcome, describing it as a "historic achievement marking the global entry of Jeju livestock." The National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives Jeju Branch (Head Ko Woo-il), Jeju Livestock Cooperatives (Chairman Cheon Chang-su), Seogwipo Livestock Farmers Association (Chairman Kim Yong-kwan), and Jeju Pig Farmers Association (Chairman Ko Gwon-jin) held a meeting at the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul, on the 2nd, and evaluated the official agreement on the "export of Jeju beef and pork to Singapore" reached during the Korea-Singapore summit as "the fruit of the long-standing efforts of Jeju livestock farmers and the cooperation between the government and the private sector." Singapore is globally recognized for its highest standards in hygiene and quarantine.
