Jeju Greenhouse Tangerine Production This Year Decreases by 3.2% Compared to Previous Year

This year's Jeju greenhouse mandarin orange production is expected to decrease by 3.2% compared to the previous year. According to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, the cultivation area and production forecast for 2025 greenhouse mandarin oranges are 451 hectares and 26,600 tons, a 3.2% decrease from the previous year's 27,521 tons. The province identified that overall production has decreased due to reduced flowering from last fall's high temperatures and increased physiological fruit drop during this spring's low temperatures. Greenhouse mandarin orange production decline has also led to a 30% decrease in shipment volume as of the 13th compared to the previous year. The wholesale market average cumulative price is 27,917 won per kg, similar to last year but 12% higher than the 2023 crop.
