Jeju Island is implementing a fish seed purchase and release project in the latter half of 2024 to combat the decline in fishery resources due to climate change. The project will cost 570 million won and will see the release of 580,000 fishery seeds, including red sea ginsengs, abalones, and black squids, into 25 fishing villages. The release will be done between October and December. In the first half of the year, 1.37 million aquatic seeds were released into 43 fishing villages. The goal is to restore aquatic resources and increase the income of female divers.
