Korean Kiwi Export Co. has conducted a successful promotional event in Taiwan, introducing Jeju kiwis to the market, with positive consumer feedback. However, the high price and quarantine issues, including the lack of permitted pesticides, pose challenges. Currently, Taiwanese consumers prefer New Zealand and Italian kiwis, primarily due to their lower prices. Korea Kiwi Export Co. is advocating for relaxed quarantine measures to facilitate smoother exports to Taiwan and hopes for government review of export restrictions. Despite these hurdles, Jeju kiwi exports are on a growth trajectory, reaching 146 tons in 2022 and an anticipated 162 tons in 2023.
