Jellyfish, a traditional dish in China and Southeast Asia, is being considered as a novel food in Europe due to their increasing population caused by global warming and overfishing. The European project 'GoJelly' aims to change the negative perception about jellyfish and utilize them as a resource for microplastic filters, fertilizers, feed, and food. The European Food Safety Authority has given a favorable opinion for the consumption of jellyfish, and the Commission is currently evaluating the application.
