(Jeongseon=Yonhap News) Reporter Park Young-seo = Gangwon Jeongseon County announced on the 29th that it will push forward with a drone pest control support project starting next year to stabilize farm management and increase farmers' income. The drone pest control support is a project to resolve the labor shortage issue due to the aging population in rural areas and to provide a comfortable farming activity foundation for farmers who are directly exposed to pesticides during traditional pest control. It also has the advantage of reducing the time and cost required for agricultural work, contributing to the stabilization of farm management. The support target is farmers who have been residing in Jeongseon for more than one year and directly cultivate agricultural land of 3,000 square meters or more. Depending on the pest control conditions, 25 won per pyeong is provided for rice paddies, and 30 won per pyeong for upland fields. In addition to the drone pest control support, the county is also pushing forward with various supports to stabilize farm management, including half-price agricultural materials support, a foreign seasonal worker program, and a minimum price support project for agricultural products. Agricultural policy director Jeon Sang-geun said, "We will continue to push forward with various supports so that farmers can concentrate on farming with peace of mind." conanys@yna.co.kr
