(Jeonju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Dong-cheol = Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province announced on the 16th that local rice and rice processed foods have made their way to New Zealand for export.
The export volume includes 10 tons of rice and 2.7 tons of processed rice foods such as nurungji and sikhe.
Jeonju City has mainly exported horticultural agricultural products such as pears and strawberries to Taiwan and Southeast Asian markets, and this time, rice and other products will be exported through the Auckland Korean Association in New Zealand.
Mayor Woo Bum-ki said, "This export will be of great significance to overseas compatriots who want to taste the flavor of their hometown's rice," and added, "We will continue to monitor the local response and export a variety of items."
