Jeonnam Province selected Goheung Duwon-myeon's Jeonyeong-gwan (56), the representative of Wolha Pomegranate Farm, as the "Forestry Worker of the Month" for September. Jeonyeong-gwan began cultivating pomegranates in Goheung, which has a warm oceanic climate, after being captivated by pomegranate flowers at an old house in Andong Hahoe Village in 2002. Currently, he cultivates pomegranates on a 5-hectare scale and produces approximately 30 tons annually, achieving high profits with annual sales of 300 million won. In particular, to compensate for the difficulty of consuming pomegranates as fresh fruit, he has developed "Wolha 1-ho," which is resistant to pests and diseases and has a relatively low acidity, making it easy to consume as fresh fruit.
