The Regional Directorate of Agriculture Junín, through the South American Camelids Unit of the Directorate of Agro-Livestock Development, has been executing the shearing campaign and the productive monitoring of alpacas registered in the Genealogical Registries of the region, with the objective of strengthening genetic improvement and the sustainability of the alpaca activity. This work is carried out in compliance with Law No. 28350, the Law for the Promotion of Genetic Improvement and Conservation of Domestic South American Camelids, which seeks to promote the breeding, production, marketing, and consumption of South American camelids, primarily alpacas and llamas. The campaign directly benefits small breeders and producers from Andean and highland areas, members of regional associations of alpaca and llama breeders, peasant communities, agrarian cooperatives, Agrarian Societies of Social Interest (SAIS), and the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) – Santa Ana, ...
