Junín: The 4th Marcapomacocha Llama Festival 2025 will be held on September 16

The district of Marcapomacocha, in the province of Yauli, has established itself as one of the main centers for llama breeding in the Junín region. In recognition of this work and with the aim of strengthening the production chain, the IV Marcapomacocha Llama Festival 2025 will be held on September 16 at the municipal stadium. The event is promoted by the District Municipality of Marcapomacocha, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Junín through the Agrarian Agency Yauli – La Oroya and the Fairs Project, which will award incentive prizes to the producers and breeders of llamas from the communities of the province, thus reinforcing the development of the production chain. The program includes the judging of llamas in the categories milk teeth, two teeth, four teeth, and full mouth, both male and female of the K’ara breed.
