Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister, Serik Zhumangarin, has emphasized the importance of rapid deep grain processing development due to the country's large grain harvest and export logistics challenges. This push aims to reduce reliance on shrinking export markets by diversifying and increasing the value of agricultural products. Despite challenges like decreasing demand in traditional export markets, there has been an increase in global demand for deep processing products. Kazakhstan already has three deep grain processing plants and is set to establish four more, with a total grain processing capacity of 1.1 million tons per year, set to commission by 2026 and 2027. These developments are expected to increase the share of processed agricultural products, expand the range of high added value products, and increase the volume of non-resource exports.
