The Saratov region in Russia has exported approximately 231 thousand tons of grain products to 29 countries over a period of almost four months, according to reports. The exports comprised of 176 thousand tons of grain and 55 thousand tons of processed products. Wheat, in particular Saratov wheat, was heavily exported to Azerbaijan, Latvia, and Kazakhstan. Safflower found popularity in European markets, while chickpeas were preferred in the Middle East. This period also marked the first purchases of Austrian companies of 22 tons of mustard seeds from the region. Kazakhstan was the leading buyer, receiving 5.4 thousand tons of grain products, mainly wheat, barley, and flour. Azerbaijan emerged as the leader in total purchases, receiving 110 thousand tons of wheat and barley.
