The Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers of Kazakhstan has reported a rise in tuber crop yields and stable exports, with the country ending the year with a good harvest and storing about 1 million tons of potatoes and main vegetables. This has allowed maintaining stable wholesale prices for producers. There has been an increase in export demand for chip varieties, French fries, and seeds, with traditional export markets being Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan, but also large requests from Russia and Belarus. Kazakhstan, however, limits exports to these countries to maintain stable partners and fulfill obligations to the domestic market.
