Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture and the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center have initiated a program to revive the 'Aport' apple variety, renowned for its quality but requiring specific conditions. Running from 2024 to 2028, the program involves scientific and technological support from the Kazakh Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing, with participation from private investors and nursery farms. Initial efforts include developing national standards and planting seedlings in 2025, aiming to expand cultivation to 100 hectares. Building on research since 2011, the program follows successful experimental cultivation that produced 6 tons of 'Aport blood-red' apples in 2023, with the goal of popularizing this unique Kazakhstani apple variety.
