Kazakhstan intends to increase wheat exports to Iran to 2 million tons and barley exports to 1 million tons per year

Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Sapparov held a meeting with the Minister of Agricultural Jihad of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Gholamreza Nouri Gezeldzhe, who arrived in Astana as part of the Iranian delegation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. Special attention at the meeting was paid to grain export issues. Since September 2024, Kazakhstan has already supplied 960,000 tons of new harvest grain to Iran, which is 17 times higher than the indicators of the same period of the previous season. The plan is to bring wheat export volumes up to 2 million tons and barley up to 1 million tons per year. "We see high potential in developing grain and oilseed exports to Iran.
