The livestock inventory across various farm animal types is steadily growing. Since the beginning of the year, cattle numbers have increased by 23.4% (9.6 million head), small livestock numbers have grown by 7.8% (26.3 million head), horse numbers have increased by 12.2% (5 million head), camel numbers have grown by 8.5% (321,300 head), and poultry numbers have increased by 2.2% (47.7 million), the Minister of Agriculture said.
According to him, Kazakh farmers have fully satisfied domestic demand for meat and lamb.
Data for 2024 shows beef export volumes have grown 1.4 times, exceeding 22,000 tons; lamb meat export volumes have increased 2.2 times, to approximately 18,000 tons. Since the beginning of this year, livestock processing production has grown. Among these, sausage product output increased by 11.3%, meat canned goods production grew by 27.5%, and refrigerated and frozen by-products increased by 41.9% and 47.1% respectively, Sapparov said.
