The Kazakh government expects a 33% increase in grain exports this year, reaching 12 million tons, due to a record harvest of 26.7 million tons. The main markets for these exports will be Central Asian countries, China, Afghanistan, and Italy, with potential supplies to Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and the European Union. So far, Kazakhstan has exported 6.3 million tons of grain, including 2.37 million tons from the new harvest, marking a rise in supplies to several neighboring countries. An operational grain headquarters has been established to manage both domestic and international grain supplies. Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasized the importance of market diversification and discussed potential synergies in grain exports with Russia.
