Kazakh grain operators have shipped the first 20,000 tons of a total 100,000 tons of new grain to Tajikistan. This move is a result of an agreement made during President Tokayev's visit to Dushanbe in August. Tajikistan is a traditional buyer of Kazakh grain and flour, with grain exports to the country increasing by 11% in the first 10 months of 2024 compared to the previous year. The export of new grain to Tajikistan has also seen a significant increase of 51% from September to December this year. The State Grain Contract Company is responsible for strategies related to national food security, stabilizing grain market prices, and promoting agricultural product exports.
