Leveraging potential, innovating salt production technology According to Report No. 863/BC-UBND dated October 14, 2025, by the Nghệ An Provincial People's Committee, the province currently maintains a stable salt production area of 605 hectares, with a yield of over 50,000 tons per year. To date, Nghệ An has recognized 12 salt production craft villages and has 16 cooperatives operating in the salt industry, contributing to the development of the coastal economy and ensuring national salt security. In recent years, local authorities, especially Quỳnh Lưu District (before the merger), along with salt industry enterprises and cooperatives, have invested over 9.8 billion VND to upgrade transportation infrastructure, dredge canals and ditches, warehouses, and other facilities serving salt production.
