The Forum of Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Catalonia (FOOVE) brought together over 200 professionals to discuss the sector's challenges and opportunities. The event highlighted the international expansion of Catalan olive oil, with exports surpassing 630 million euros in 2024 and the product distributed in over 160 countries. Rosalba Arrufat stressed the need to increase the value of olive oil and market it effectively, particularly highlighting its unique attributes and Catalonia's gastronomic heritage. The 2025 designation of Catalonia as a World Region of Gastronomy offers further promotion opportunities for olive oil.
