Russia: Khakassia farmers continue harvesting grain in difficult weather conditions

Despite the rains, the harvesting campaign in Khakassia is gaining momentum. In total, 16,244 hectares of grain have been mown in the republic. The harvest amounted to 28,052 tons, including 19,483 tons of wheat, 3,927 tons of oats, and 3,649 tons of barley. Farmers have also begun harvesting other crops. Thus, about 400 tons of vegetables have been harvested to date. The plan for harvesting hay and haylage has been fulfilled by about half. The percentage of fulfillment of the plan for harvesting grain crops is highest in the Beysky District. Two-thirds of the wheat harvest, half of the barley harvest, and 43% of the oats have been harvested there. In the Altai District, 3,388 hectares or 54.5% of wheat have been mown and threshed, and the barley plan has been almost fulfilled. In the Ordzhonikidzevsky district, where there are much more sown areas, 12.7% of wheat, 38.5% of barley and 9.5% of oats have been mown.
