Kim Gi-young, the chairman of the Jindo Fisheries Cooperative Association, recently received the '2025 Republic of Korea Social Contribution' award, which was organized by 'SisaToday'. This award is a comprehensive recognition of the Jindo Fisheries Cooperative Association's achievements in member-centered management, innovation in Jindo's fishery industry, and regional economic revitalization. Chairman Kim Gi-young has been overseeing Jindo's fishing operations for about 30 years, focusing on field-centered management philosophy, cooperative operation innovation, and support for fishermen. These efforts have led to improvements in the cooperative's financial health and enhanced competitiveness, establishing a solid growth foundation. Notably, the Jindo Fisheries Cooperative Association achieved the highest net profit last year (6.8 billion won) and ranked first in the nationwide cooperative's seafood sales.
