With export growth to the United States, Japan, and China driving the performance, there is a forecast that it could reach 1.1 billion dollars by the end of the year. According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the export value of kim for the 2024-2025 crop year stood at 1.015 billion dollars (approximately 1.5 trillion won) as of the 20th of last month, a 13.2% increase from the same period last year, marking a record high. This is analyzed as a result of improved quality competitiveness and increased global demand. On a single country basis, kim exports to the U.S. market amounted to 220 million dollars, a 15.3% increase from the same period last year.
