In the first ten months of 2024, Cambodia saw a significant increase in its cashew nut exports to Vietnam, with over 790,000 tonnes exported, generating revenue of $1.110 billion, a 36 percent increase from the previous year. The country's total cashew nut production reached 840,000 tonnes, marking a 26 percent increase year-over-year. With continued expansion of cultivated land and high demand for seedlings, the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia is optimistic about the industry's potential for global leadership in the next four to five years, despite challenges posed by climate change. The association attributes the industry's growth to advanced cultivation techniques, regular training, and the high price of quality cashews due to a global supply shortage.
