The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced that it will purchase an additional 4,000 tons of summer cabbage to address supply uncertainties caused by summer heatwaves and heavy rains, following the purchase of 15,000 tons of spring cabbage. According to aT, the purchase of summer cabbage will begin in August, focusing on highland cabbage production areas such as Pyeongchang, Jeongseon, and Gangneung in Gangwon Province. The specific schedule and volume of the purchase will be adjusted flexibly based on the growth status of cabbage and the harvest period in each production area. aT plans to supply the secured reserve volume to the market in a timely manner to stabilize prices when supply uncertainties occur in the future.
