The Korea Rural Community Corporation's Jeju Regional Headquarters has stepped in to support areas of Jeju City, including Gimnyeong, Woljeong, Haengwon, and Handong in Gujwa-eup, which are facing a severe water shortage during the sowing season. This crisis, exacerbated by record heatwave days, has led to high heat damage and significant challenges in crop management. The Gujwa region, a key contributor to Korea's carrot production, is particularly affected. In response, the Jeju Headquarters has deployed water supply vehicles, drawing on agricultural water from public works reservoirs, and is ready to ramp up efforts using various equipment and professional staff to mitigate the water shortage's impact on agriculture.
