A South Korean health delegation has successfully inspected Argentine fisheries in Mar del Plata, revalidating Argentina's system for exporting fishery products to South Korea. The inspection, which covered jigger boats and reprocessed fishing product plants, focused on the control of the entire production process and was particularly stringent in administrative and sanitary aspects, with 85% of objectives necessary to pass. The delegation's interest was piqued by jigger vessels and the land-based export of squid and stingray fins. This visit is part of efforts towards a bilateral cooperation agreement, following a previous one in May that highlighted the laboratory's potential for the fishing industry. Squid exports to South Korea have seen a significant 28.9% increase in volume from January to May 2024.
