Poland ranked as the third largest maize producer in the European Union in 2021, according to various data sources. The country's total grain harvest was 34.6 million tonnes, with maize accounting for 22% of that. The Central Statistical Office reported a decrease in the harvest of basic cereals compared to the previous year, but a significant increase in maize harvest, reaching approximately 7.5 million tonnes, a record high. Maize cultivation in Poland has seen increased popularity since the country joined the EU, with the highest area of cultivation and harvest in the past seven years.
