Malaysia's palm oil exports from January to October 2023 are valued at RM51.40 billion, with India remaining the main importer. China and the European Union are the second and third largest markets for Malaysian palm oil, with export values of RM4.42 billion and RM3.71 billion, respectively. The Ministry of Plantation and Commodities plans to focus on increasing exports to the Middle East, Africa, ASEAN, and Central Asia regions in 2024, with a special emphasis on value-added products and promoting the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil Certification Scheme (MSPO) certification. In addition, efforts are being made to expand kenaf cultivation in Sabah and Sarawak through cooperation with local stakeholders.
