The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan and the Association of Corn Growers have signed a memorandum to increase food security by setting targets for corn grain and succulent feed production. The Association aims to double these productions by 2026-2030, using intensive technologies and without expanding cultivated areas. The introduction of sorghum, a drought-resistant crop, into production is a key strategy, as it can provide succulent feed at half the cost of corn. This initiative aligns with the President's Decree on the development of the agro-industrial complex, focusing on climate change mitigation strategies. The Association is also working on cultivating suitable seeds and developing technology for highland regions to provide succulent fodder.
