The Special Project Chavimochic, through its Technology Transfer team, conducted a technical visit to the demonstration plot of native potato variety Huevo de Indio, located in the fields of the United Agricultural Producers Association to Triumph, in the Huaychaca Alto sector, Julcán province, La Libertad region. The association, led by Mr. Juan Luis Santos, actively participates in this applied research process, which aims to evaluate the behavior of the beneficial fungus Trichoderma viride in sierra conditions, at over 3400 m above sea level, as a sustainable alternative to strengthen potato cultivation. During the visit, the specialists observed a progressive and favorable advancement of the crop, evidencing adequate root development and improved health of the soil-root system, results that surpass traditional methods based on chemical fungicides.
