It highlighted that "irregular germination leads to the unevenness of the crops, making management difficult and impacting the final productivity," reinforcing the importance of selecting manivas well and, when possible, conducting forecast tests before planning. The average price paid to the producer has been reduced to R$ 4.50/kg with peel and R$ 7.00/kg industrialized. In the administrative region of Lajeado, in São José do Hortêncio, the planting of the new crop is practically completed and about 90% of the area has already been harvested.
