This is reported by UNIAN, referencing the words of Anna Kashyrina, coordinator of the plant and seed protection committee at UCAB. "The prospects for cotton production in Ukraine are assessed as quite promising and strategically important, especially for the southern regions of Ukraine," the expert says. According to her, climate change is creating favorable conditions for growing this heat-loving crop. Precise harvest forecasts for this year are difficult to make, as industrial cultivation has only just started in three regions: Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson. "These regions have the most favorable climatic conditions for this crop. Last year, experimental plantings were established on small plots in the Odesa region (about 5 hectares), and their yield was experimental," Anna Kashyrina noted.
