Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador, are using a new digital management tool, Marine Manager by Global Fishing Watch, to improve marine management and protect marine resources. The tool provides an interactive map with information on animal telemetry, topographical and environmental maps, oceanographic information, and monitors fishing activity. It is being used in the Eastern Tropical Pacific Marine Conservation Corridor (CMAR) to better manage and monitor marine protected areas, supporting the goals of the global 30x30 agreement. Additionally, a new ocean fund was launched at the United Nations Conference of the Parties summit to provide a platform for marine philanthropy and knowledge sharing in Southeast Asia.
