With the change, the minimum percentage of crop loss required to receive the aid drops from 50% to 40%. The measure aims to assist families who previously did not qualify for the program because they did not meet the previous threshold and to ensure that resources arrive more quickly in situations of climate emergencies. The new law allows the government to pay the benefit in up to three monthly installments or in a single payment, as appropriate. This flexibility can be applied in situations such as public calamity, pandemic, epidemic, or national emergency.
