The government of Rio Grande do Sul is conducting an official technical mission to Nebraska, United States, between October 20 and 24. The American state is a global benchmark in irrigated systems and water resource management. The delegation is led by Vice-Governor Gabriel Souza and includes representatives from strategic secretariats, entities, parliamentarians, and the press. The objective is to learn about successful experiences, identify technologies and models that can be adapted to the state, and expand institutional cooperation. Vice-Governor Gabriel Souza explains that expanding irrigation is a priority to face the recurrent drought episodes in Rio Grande do Sul. "Programs like Irriga+RS offer subsidies for irrigation projects and place the producer as the protagonist in combating drought.
