The Egyptian government announced a temporary ban on the export of pulses starting from April, aiming to meet the domestic demand. However, the ban was later amended to exclude green beans, green peas, and peanuts. The exports of dry beans, peanuts, and green beans during the season from September 2020 to February 2021 reached $75 million, $59 million, and $17 million respectively. The annual export season of agricultural crops in Egypt runs from September to August of the following year, with citrus being the largest agricultural commodity exported, amounting to $389 million.
