From January to May of this year, Peru experienced a significant decrease in lemon oil exports, with only 73,316 kilos exported compared to 211,952 kilos in the same period of 2019. The FOB value for the first five months of 2020 was US $ 2,422,279, a major drop from the US $ 5,982,324 recorded in the same period of the previous year. No lemon oil shipments were made in March of this year, which partially explains the decrease in exports compared to 2019. The United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands were the main destinations for Peruvian lemon oil in the first four months of 2020, and Limones Piuranos SAC, Aceites Esenciales del Perú SA, and Agroindustrias AIB SA were the leading exporting companies.
