San Pedro's sweet potato production is one of the most important hubs in the country for this tuber. Driven by a strong historical and cultural component, more than merely climatic, this region concentrates 20% of the national surface area and annually dedicates around 2000 hectares among all the family farms and fields in that northern Buenos Aires region.
