A recent heat wave and rain in São Paulo have adversely affected lettuce production, leading to a decrease in supply and an increase in prices. The temperatures, which reached 33ºC in Ibiúna and Mogi das Cruzes, with a thermal sensation of up to 40ºC, have caused significant damage to the crops. As a result, the price of a box of 20 units of crespa lettuce has risen by 10.74% to R$ 33.22 in Ibiúna. Producers are worried about the ongoing climate instability, which could further disrupt supply and maintain high prices.
