Libya destroys 62 tons of smuggled and moldy Egyptian onions

Tripoli authorities have destroyed an estimated 62 tons of red and white onions from Egypt deemed unfit for human consumption. About 62 tons of rotten Egyptian onions (affected by black mould) unfit for human consumption were seized at Janzour vegetable market. Ibrahim Masoud Ben Dakhil, director of the Environmental Health Department, said the onions had been smuggled and sold and traded covertly.
