Lifting of travel restrictions following the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Oda City, Shimane Prefecture (fourth case in Japan)

Background and Future Plans (1) Following the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (the fourth case in Japan this season) at a poultry farm in Oda City, Shimane Prefecture on October 31, 2024, Shimane Prefecture established a movement restriction area (within a 3km radius of the outbreak farm) and an export restriction area (area between a 3km and 10km radius of the outbreak farm) in accordance with the Livestock Infectious Diseases Prevention Act. (2) On November 21, 2024, Shimane Prefecture lifted the export restrictions set for the area between a 3km and 10km radius of the outbreak farm. (3) Shimane Prefecture has lifted the travel restrictions as of midnight on Monday, December 2, 2024 (midnight on Sunday, December 1, 2024), 21 days after the day after quarantine measures at the affected farm were completed on November 10, 2024. 2.
