Shimane Prefecture in Japan has lifted travel and export restrictions following an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza at a local poultry farm. The restrictions, in place since November 2024, were lifted 21 days after the completion of quarantine measures at the affected farm. The prefecture also reassured the public that there is no risk of human infection from eating poultry products. The outbreak marked the fourth case of the disease in Japan's poultry population that season.
